Downtown Doral Park offers a large open lawn for plenty of family-friendly activities including recreational sports and yoga, walking/jogging trails, bike-ways, gated children’s playground with multiple swings, picnic tables, and a covered pavilion for events. It is a great place to enjoy simple pleasures: a picnic on the lawn, walking your dog down a green path or watching the sunset with a loved one. The park is clean, safe, and secure with nearby free parking spaces.
Explore Downtown Doral’s Main Street
After spending a day at Downtown Doral Park, you can walk right over to Main Street to enjoy a flavorful feast from all your Doral favorites like Dragonfly Izakaya, Bulla Gastrobar, and Pisco y Nazca. The pedestrian-only promenade offers several kinds of experiences for every interest. You’ll also find a neon dome installation by local artist Haiiileen.
Home of the Micco Sculpture
On the walking path leading to the City of Doral Government Center, sits a massive sculpture named Micco by artist Michele Oka Doner. The sculpture is named after the Seminole term for “wise leader,” and symbolizes a “Gateway to the Everglades.” Oka Doner is from Miami Beach and is known for her larger-than-life public art installations around the world. Her work is featured in the collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art, The Metropolitan Museum, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Perez Art Museum Miami.
