World of Nutcracker Brings Immersive Holiday Magic to Downtown Doral
Downtown Doral invites you to experience the timeless holiday tale of The Nutcracker! The World of Nutcracker, an immersive interpretation of George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker, is coming to Downtown Doral from November 30th, 2024, to January 3rd, 2025. Drawing on the iconic, global traditions of The Nutcracker, audiences will experience the story in three distinct ways: immersive digital, live stage performance and a sensory journey through global sweets and delicacies.
The first experience of its kind in the United States, The World of Nutcracker, presented by the Downtown Doral Arts and Culture Foundation, was produced in conjunction with leading theatrical, scenic, lighting and video designers from Broadway and the wider world of theater. The experience is directed by Brett Smock, Producing Artistic Director at The REV Theater Company in New York, with a creative team consisting of Jeff Kmiec (Scenic Design), Alex Basco Koch (Animation Design, Jose Santiago (Lighting Design) and Eric Ulloa (Scriptwriter).
During the approximately 45-minute experience, visitors will journey through iconic scenes and retellings of The Nutcracker story, through stage performance and immersive projection. Throughout their adventure they will experience interpretations of Marie’s dream, meet the grand toymaker, Drosselmeier, witness the famed battle between the Nutcracker Prince and The Mouse King, venture into The Nutcracker Emporium—where they will be able to peruse a global market of desserts and delights—and finally make their journey to Drosselmeier’s Workshop.
Throughout their journey, visitors will encounter a number of photo-op moments: immersive animation, actors in live stage performance, from atop an authentic Christmas sleigh, and with characters from the story to recount their one-of-a-kind holiday adventure.
The experience culminates at Drosselmeier’s Workshop, where guests of all ages will have the opportunity to purchase Nutcracker miniatures for decoration (included with VIP tickets), meet Santa Claus for a photo opportunity (included with VIP tickets) and enjoy delicious holiday delights, including hot cocoa and treats amidst a festive holiday atmosphere.
Tickets to the experience, as well as add-ons, are available for purchase online at WorldOfNutcracker.com. Entry to the experience is at specific times shown on the ticket. Purchasing tickets in advance is strongly encouraged to ensure guests secure their desired time slots. General Admission starts at $35 for adults $18 for children, while VIP Tickets offer an enhanced experience for $60 for adults and $35 for children. Doral Residents receive a 20% discount on general admission and VIP ticket prices, which is automatically applied at checkout.
